PALMU is a vibrant and fierce Finnish/Moldovan singer, songwriter, and performer currently based in Berlin. She has been singing for as long as she can remember, always the loudest voice in the room and rarely needing a microphone. PALMU's career took flight when she spread her wings and moved to Berlin, where she signed a publishing deal with BMG Rights Management GmbH and settled in Germany.
Stepping out of the shadow of her classical musician family, PALMU injects her music and visuals with fashion, theater, comedy, and a love for pop, electronic, and hip hop music. Her debut feature has garnered over 50 million views across social media platforms, and female DJs like Blond:sh (CA) and Spacewoman (TR) have played tracks featuring PALMU's vocals infant of thousands of people at numerous festivals, including the MELT Festival (DE).
She describes her music as "personality dance pop." "It’s like Bebe Rexha (US), Kim Petras (GE), and Qveen Herby (US) made a baby!" PALMU says. She loves crafting quirky concepts and catchy choruses that make your feet want to move. In recent years, PALMU has performed at many Pride Festivals in Germany and numerous events in the queer scene and toured the Nordics, concluding with a performance at the Tallinn Music Week (EE) showcase festival.
PALMU's music has received airplay, reaching audiences in Finland, Germany, and even on the prestigious BBC Radio in the UK. Her debut single, "Housewife," had its music video premiere on Finnish TV and was well-received. Living in Berlin has brought PALMU opportunities to collaborate with Grammy-nominated platinum/gold songwriters and producers, working on projects with BTS (KR), Rita Ora (UK), Mabel (UK), Izzy Bizu (UK), Snoop Dogg (US), Tate McRae (CA), R3HAB (NL), and RuPaul (US). PALMU has learned so much working with these amazing creatives and is now ready to focus on her own music and getting her message out in the upcoming EP. She’s also collaborated with multiple brands such as Maybelline and Vinted on social media and continues to build a fan base on TikTok.
As a songwriter, PALMU has enjoyed success, particularly on radio and in sync placements. She co-wrote the Finnish Women's National Football team's EM song, which was featured in Volkswagen ads across Finland. Another notable success is "Brain On Fire" by Vescu ft. Ivan Giuse, co-written by PALMU, which reached #11 on the Swiss radio Dance Charts and received extensive airplay in Europe.
In 2024, PALMU is focusing on releasing her own music, live performances, and upcoming trips to ADE, Amsterdam and London (UK). Next year, PALMU plans to release her debut EP, as well as focus on collaborating with other artists, making sure her message is clear: "Express yourself as you want!
